Position Title : Accountant 1

Business Unit : Finance

Reports to : Accounting Manager

Position Overview :

This position is primarily responsible for performing routine general accounting functions in the Accounting Operations area to include attention on general ledger reconcilements, creation of journal entries, maintenance of subsidiary systems, and supporting ledgers. The candidate will participate in a cross-functional team that includes finance, controls, credit, operations, and systems staff members to generate accurate accounting entries and disclosures within established time limits that satisfy reporting demands.

Primary Responsibilities :

Organize data, compile reports, and complete research projects. Effectively communicate with various departments for these tasks.

Reconcile vendor generated data to core system, communicate corrections and process GL entries.

Prepare general ledger entries in accordance with bank procedures and GAAP.

Analyze General Ledger accounts as required and research outstanding items.

Prepare reconcilements to support the operational accounting process.

Maintain accurate financial records and executing month end closing procedures.

Other duties and more complex reconcilement as assigned based on strengths and skill set.

Support bank projects as needed. May interact with both external and internal auditing entities may be required.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Knowledge of accounting principles, familiarity with regulations governing accounting in a financial institution, and experience in financial institution policies and procedures preferred but not required
