Account Manager Position

Salary range : $75,000 - $85,000+

Employee Benefits International Arizona is looking for a client and carrier-facing Employee Benefits Account Manager who will manage and oversee the coordinated efforts to successfully implement client enrollment and renewals. Client profiles span a diverse set of industries and will range in size from 50 to 300 employee lives covered on benefits.

We are looking for an independent, proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable offering suggestions for improvement, maintaining schedules, and handling tasks such as planning, contracts, emails, and follow-ups. A high attention to detail, strong execution, and follow-through are essential, along with a sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task efficiently. This role requires someone who enjoys accountability and works well with minimal supervision.

The position offers the opportunity to work in a small, boutique firm environment where consistency, reliability, and accuracy are key. You should be able to automate, document, and continuously improve daily workflows while communicating professionally with clients and stakeholders. Experience with database management, including providing demonstrations and support, is necessary, as well as serving as a general consulting point of contact for clients.

The successful candidate will be adept at operating in a dynamic environment, able to shift priorities quickly and coordinate with others to achieve timely and thorough completion of assignments. Strong planning and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to manage projects effectively. The role demands a high level of emotional maturity and professionalism, with a strong commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, a solid grasp of English grammar, punctuation, and formatting, as well as exceptional computer skills (including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), are essential for success in this role.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  • The ideal candidate will oversee the client census process, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and analyzing enrollment data for submission. They will also be responsible for overseeing the creation of the renewal / proposal analysis (Spread) using proposals obtained from carriers and vendors. This role includes tracking and monitoring progress, fielding questions, and reviewing the proposal analysis for accuracy to ensure it meets RFP specifications. The candidate will facilitate the enrollment process as needed, maintain client records in the agency database and file systems, and request and monitor the delivery of renewals from carriers. Additionally, they will provide backup support for the customization of the Employee Navigator portal and manage the implementation of new lines of coverage and carrier changes to ensure smooth launches and transitions. The candidate will assist in the preparation of communication and proofreading of materials for both internal and external purposes, including benefit guides, client presentations, and marketing analysis reports. They will manage file feed setup with third-party vendors and carrier partners and attend client functions and key meetings as necessary. Other responsibilities include preparing benchmarking reports for existing clients, communicating with carriers and vendors pre- and post-sale / renewal, and handling service and compliance issues with clients and carriers. The candidate will also oversee customer service for client human resource personnel and employees, answering benefit, billing, and service questions, and working to effectively resolve any issues.
