Once Trained: CNA Responsibilities - Participates in collection of assessment data to develop a plan of care
- Follows the established plan of care and associated procedures and policies
- Provide grooming/hygiene for residents as required
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge to provide safe, competent nurse aide care
- Serve residents’ trays according to prescribed diets and collect when finished
- Feed residents/assist with meal consumption
- Assist residents in walking and/or wheelchair mobility
- Perform temperature, respiration and blood pressure, record results and report results to nurse
- Report any unusual conditions or reaction to the unit supervisor
- Collect soiled linens/clothing, transport linen/clothing to laundry and distribute clean linen/clothing
- Accompany and assist residents to the hospital, physician office and other appointments as necessary
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Plan of Care Team meetings
- Participate in committees/projects, continuing education programs, training sessions and meetings
- Documentation of care given for each resident
- Maintain resident rooms, nursing units, kitchenettes in neat, clean order
- Assist residents with dressing as required
- Charges equipment, supplies and services correctly
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - High School diploma or GED preferred
- Criminal background check current within one year (and all other clearances)
- Ability to pass the class and exam
