We are seeking a Facilities Engineering Project Manager to join our global media and entertainment client, as the right-hand to the Director of Critical Infrastructure and Facilities Engineering, supporting MEP, life safety, and data center projects. This pivotal role will help manage facility engineering projects-handling design, construction, commissioning, ongoing optimization and special projects as defined by leadership across multiple, geographically distributed sites. This role requires frequent travel between Manhattan, Englewood Cliffs, NJ, Washington, DC, with occasional travel to Orlando, FL, Los Angeles and San Fransico, CA. The ideal candidate must have hands on engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Collaborate closely with the Director to plan, execute, and oversee facilities engineering projects from design to handover.
- Coordinate construction related activities such as but not limited to; commissioning, retro-commissioning, equipment start-ups, testing / training programs, and pre- and post-occupancy support.
- Prepare project scopes, budgets, schedules, technical specifications, RFPs, bid packages, and change control requests.
Critical Infrastructure Management
Ensure robust maintenance, operations, and energy management practices.Perform engineering audits, feasibility studies, commissioning plans, and life-cycle cost analyses.Monitor and optimize systems performance across HVAC, power, fire / life-safety, and other critical systems.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as the main liaison between the Director, internal teams, external consultants, contractors, vendors, and site personnel.Conduct regular project meetings, provide status updates, report risks / issues, and manage resolution workflows.Facilitate client dialogues, staff training sessions, and develop O&M documentation.Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with Codes, Standards, local / state / federal regulations, and best practices.Develop and enforce safety protocols and operational guidelines.Oversee quality control - including site inspections, design reviews, submittal approvals, and issue tracking.Continuous Improvement & Reporting
Contribute to energy-saving strategies, sustainability initiatives, and performance metrics.Prepare technical reports, financial reviews, and presentations for senior leadership.Champion operational excellence and process optimization across all projects.Essential Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.5+ years of demonstrated experience in engineering project or facilities management roles, preferably within critical infrastructure environments such as Banking, Utility, Hospital, live Broadcast.Proven track record in large-scale facilities engineering covering areas such as : data center construction, commissioning / retro-commissioning, energy audits, and multi-system optimization, Electrical / Mechanical operation and maintenanceDeep technical expertise across HVAC, electrical, mechanical, fire / life safety, and power generation systems.Strong project management capabilities : schedules, budgets, contracts, risk mitigation.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and external partners.Willingness and ability to travel regularly between NYC-Stamford, CT-Englewood Cliffs, NJ and Washington DC with occasional travel to Orlando, LA, and SF.Preferred Credentials :
Certifications such as CBCP (Certified Building Commissioning Professional), CFM Certified Facilities Management) FMP, SFP, CEM, FMC, ET, PE, Uptime Institute Data Center Certification.Advanced degree or certificate in Energy Management or Facilities Management.Experience within media, higher-education, healthcare, or high-availability facility sectors.About Us
