About the Employer

Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. In the heart of the coastal agricultural area, we celebrate our families and the support they provide to the students of the District. The District is comprised of seventeen elementary schools, four junior high schools, and one combined elementary and junior high. Job Summary

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, plan, organize, and coordinate the accounting, budget control, fiscal record management and reporting activities and functions of the District; review, analyze, audit, and evaluate the work product of accounting clerical personnel; perform more complex and specialized accounting,

budget control and financial record management and reporting functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination equivalent to : Associate's Degree including or supplemented by coursework or training in accounting, business management, or closely related field and three years of responsible accounting, budget control and financial record management and reporting experience, including one year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
