Responsibilities Position is in an 18-bed Medical-Surgical Acute unit with mostly private rooms Patient population includes general medical cases with Heparin titration required Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4-5 : 1 for day shifts and 5-6 : 1 for night shifts RNs work 12-hour night shifts with shifts from 7p-7a, including every other weekend and rotating holidays Travelers are first to float to other units as needed Patients may require oxygen up to 6L NC and stable BiPAP / CPAP, with remote telemetry monitoring (Phillips equipment) Epic EMR is used on this unit Support staff includes 24-hour coverage by charge RNs, house supervisors, PCTs, RT, pharmacy, and unit clerks RNs are expected to initiate IV starts and can use unit resources if unsuccessful One 12-hour orientation shift with a unit preceptor is provided Scrub color is flexible; staff must provide their own scrubs except pediatric prints Hospitalist / Intensivist, RT, and pharmacy are available in-house 24 / 7 First-time travelers are welcome to apply No radius rule applies; local candidates within 50 miles are eligible at a local rate COVID vaccination is not required for this position Requirements Active IL RN license is required at the time of consideration Current BLS (AHA) certification Minimum 1 year of recent hospital experience preferred Experience with titrating Heparin drips is required Epic EMR experience is preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627448.
