Summer Camp Counselor I

• June 30-August 15, 2025 (camp closed July 4) STAFF
• 8am-4pm, Mondays through Fridays Join the Sid Jacobson JCC Summer Streeters team and help bring the magic of camp to campers ages 3- 13 years old. We are looking for enthusiastic hard-working individuals to work as Counselors at our Day Camp in East Hills, NY. Camp runs from Monday to Friday, June 30 th through August 15 th ; with pre-camp orientation in May and June. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
• Daily supervision of campers ages 3- 13, including supervising and supporting campers during various camp activities, trips, lunch, and swimming.
• Become well-versed in all aspects of the camp program including but limited to health and safety protocols, camp values and goals, and the mission of the JCC.
• Ensure that all safety procedures are strictly enforced, and any incidents are both handled and documented in a timely manner.
• Communicate regularly with the Head Counselor and Camp Directors.
• Come prepared every day to fully participate in camp activities including the camp swim program.
• Actively participate in activities that commensurate with the abilities, limitations, and needs of all campers.
• Foster positive relationships between campers, providing guidance and support.
• Read and fully comply with the camp policies set forth in the staff guide that will be given at orientation, this includes rules and regulations, dress code, and emergency procedures.
• Exude enthusiasm for camp values.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Camps Directors as need be. Compensation
