The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic provides critical maintenance support to both cable and compound manufacturing plants. This hands-on role requires a detail-oriented professional with a solid understanding of industrial mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will excel at troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and installing equipment to specification—while helping to minimize downtime and improve future operations.
Candidates must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift following initial training on 1st shift and be open to overtime and weekend work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machinery and equipment.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for data entry and reporting.Support plant expansions and capital projects as required.Uphold 6S and safety standards at all times.May occasionally fill in for supervisory personnel.Work flexible hours, including weekends or other shifts when necessary.Skills and Abilities
Diagnose and repair mechanical failures in industrial equipment.Proficient in welding, machining, and light fabrication.Experience with pipefitting, plumbing, and rigging.Skilled in motor / pump alignment using dial gauges and lasers.Ability to read and interpret mechanical prints and schematics.Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolds, or lifts.Communicates effectively and advises management on potential equipment hazards.Dependable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented.Education & Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ industrial maintenance experience (preferred).Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field (preferred).Must successfully pass the Company’s mechanical aptitude test and may be required to demonstrate mechanical skills.
