Job description

Overview

Horizon House is seeking a compassionate Assisted Living Assistant Administrator to provide leadership and clinical oversight to ensure the quality of life and well-being of all Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. The role drives daily operations of care delivery, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance, aiming for resident-centered care and excellent service outcomes. You will supervise nurses and CNAs, foster a performance-driven team, and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead the Assisted Living team in alignment with Horizon House\'s mission, values, and care philosophy.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure consistency, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and QAPI projects.

Staff Supervision

  • Hire, train, and evaluate nurses and CNAs.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management support to the care team.
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation and provide coverage as needed.
  • Resident Care & Satisfaction

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residents and families regarding clinical care concerns.
  • Oversee resident care, including regular audits of Negotiated Service Agreements (NSA) and Plans of Care (POC).
  • Collaborate with dining services to ensure a high-quality mealtime experience.
  • Clinical Oversight & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all Washington State Assisted Living regulations.
  • Oversee incident management, reporting, and trend analysis.
  • Support infection control and resident safety protocols.
  • Develop and manage elopement profiles through oversight and delegation to RCCs for implementation.
  • Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with hospice, home health, and external care agencies.
  • Act as point of contact for Long Term Care (LTC) insurance processes with nurse staff.
  • Staff Development & Training

  • Identify staff development needs and lead training programs.
  • Collaborate with Life Enrichment and clinical teams on memory care initiatives and education.
  • Qualifications

  • Active unencumbered WA or Multi-State RN / LPN license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience (preferred).
  • Experience in an Assisted Living environment with knowledge of applicable regulations (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive).
  • Experience and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, problem-solving, and ability to foster a positive team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work with a diverse employee population across cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.
  • Willingness to support training needs across all shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a 24 / 7 care environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and adaptability.
