Tax Preparer

Job Summary

We are seeking to hire a recently certified graduate who has completed their tax preparer training and are authorized to work professionally with an active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number), especially value candidates with strong knowledge of federal tax systems, experience with tax software, customer service skills, and a collaborative mindset.

The ideal candidate will have an entry level or 2-3 years background in accounting and tax preparation, with the ability to analyze financial data and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software, as well as a solid understanding of financial concepts and tax regulations. The Tax Preparer will assist clients in preparing their tax returns accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws. We are opening a new office and you will work alone most of the time.

Responsibilities :

Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.

Analyze financial documents to determine tax liabilities and deductions.

Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks for accurate record-keeping.

Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their tax situations.

Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

Assist clients with bookkeeping tasks as needed, including maintaining accurate financial records.

Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.

Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry of financial information.

Requirements

Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).

Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Professional attitude, ethics, and client service orientation.

Proven experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or corporate accounting is preferred.

Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and tax regulations.

Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and financial software tools.

Strong math skills for accurate calculations related to taxes and finances.

Previous experience in sales or marketing is a plus, demonstrating the ability to attract new clients.

Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients effectively.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
