AdventHealth Home Infusion in Longwood, FL is seeking an onsite Director of Nursing. The DON oversees the efficient operation of the nursing department and ensures compliance is being met per legal and regulatory requirements. This leader will maintain a qualified clinical staff and coordinate patient needs among appropriate staff.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and supervise qualified clinical staff. Conduct ongoing skill appraisals and performance evaluations to ensure quality / accuracy of work performed. Hire qualified healthcare professionals as warranted and provide proper orientation and in-service training
- Direct the coordination of client intake / scheduling / care plan development / resource utilization
- Establish medical necessity to ensure reimbursement for services rendered
- Schedule / assign qualified staff based on client needs and monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to schedules and policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain a quality management program to ensure that case management is appropriate, adequate and consistent with the patient care plan, medical regimen and patient needs.
- Update staff on new / changed regulations
- Review and respond to patient and family complaints, investigate unusual events and ensure proper follow-up and documentation.
- Review records / documentation to ensure compliance with all company policies / procedures and all federal / state laws and regulatory agencies (e.g., Pharmacy Board, Nursing Licensure Board, OSHA, CHAP, TJC)
- Provide back up support to staff
- Participate in marketing / promotional activities within the community to support the achievement of sales objectives
- Maintain the confidentiality of patients and their personal information at all times
- Active involvement in the QA&I activities; monitoring assigned outcome indicators and working toward achievement of established goals and expectations for the Beyond Expectations program
- Provide input to the annual business / marketing plans and budget
- Conduct cost analyses and monitor revenue and expenses
- Other duties as assigned

Registered Nurse with active license by the state of FloridaPass Level 2 background check per AHCA requirementsAt least 2 years of clinical experience. Specialty pharmacy including acute / home care is a plusAt least 2 years of supervisory / leadership experienceProven knowledge of community health / home health / governmental home health agency regulations and Medicare servicesProficiency in the Microsoft Suite and medical charting
