Description :

Candidates must have Oncology experience and Chemo Certification.

The unit has a total of 40 beds, with 20 beds on each floor.

Patient ratios are dependent on staffing ability, with a target of 1 : 3 and a stretch of 1 : 4.

The unit is supported by designated staff, including unit secretaries and patient care technicians.

Available equipment includes bedside monitors and computers, as well as lift assist devices.

The documentation system in use is Meditech.

Scheduling requires rotation of weekends.

Travelers are the first to float to other units.

Patient experience requirements include bedside shift reports, safety rounds, and managing teams effectively.

Certifications required are BLS and ACLS, with ONS chemotherapy knowledge preferred.

Experience in bone marrow transplant is favored.

Candidates should possess excellent assessment skills and be able to read telemetry and monitor simple titration of drips.

Competence in administering chemotherapy is necessary.

Procedures occasionally performed on the unit include bone marrow biopsies.

The dress code requires royal blue scrubs.

There is a focus on teamwork, and the environment is very welcoming to floats and contract employees.

The unit boasts five-time accreditation by FACT and performs various transplant procedures, including autologous and allogeneic transplants.
