Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Assignment Location : Durham, NC 27704 Assignment Type : Travel nursing job Unit : Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Medical ICU (MICU) Start Date : December 15, 2025 End Date : March 16, 2026 Contract Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), 3 shifts / week Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 8-week schedule) Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Floating : Required to adult inpatient areas Scrub Color : Royal Blue Orientation : Bi-weekly, 36 hours Flu Vaccine : Required (no exemptions) Estimated Weekly Salary : $1910-$1960 ICU RN Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (MICU required) Prior travel nurse experience preferred Active NC or compact Registered Nurse license Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS (all current) Proficiency with Epic charting system Ability to float to adult inpatient units Recent supervisory reference (within last year) Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) ICU Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric ICU patients with medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac diagnoses Manage complex conditions : sepsis, respiratory failure, DKA, CHF, STEMI / NSTEMI, post-cath lab, post-neurosurgery Perform advanced ICU procedures : arterial line management, ventilator management, central line care, blood product administration, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Interpret arterial blood gases, manage dysrhythmias, respond to rapid patient changes Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, rapid response) Float to other adult inpatient units as needed Maintain accurate documentation in Epic Participate in bedside procedures and utilize specialized equipment (CRRT, IABP, Arctic Sun) Discover rewarding ICU nursing jobs in Durham, North Carolina.
