Job Description

The Foreman position is responsible for managing the overall construction plan, while never sacrificing safety or quality.

  • Salary is commensurate with experience

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Preconstruction Phase

  • Attend and participate in the preconstruction meeting. Adding input to realistic deadlines and assets that will be needed to complete the project in a safe, and efficient manner.
  • Review contract, scope, drawings, and specifications
  • Construction Phase

  • Safety – The number one priority is to maintain a safe work environment for everyone on the jobsite.
  • Follow all Green Air and jobsite safety protocols
  • Weekly jobsite safety meetings will take place on Monday mornings – follow process
  • Any safety concerns must be communicated to the Project Manager and Safey Coordinator immediately
  • Ensure all Green Air and Green Air’s subcontractors follow PPE guidelines
  • Any safety infractions must be reported to the Project Manager and Safety Coordinator immediately
  • All near misses and injuries must be reported to the Project Manager, Superintendent, Safey Coordinator, and Human Resources immediately
  • Daily

  • Team meetings
  • Morning job box meeting
  • Ensure all Green Air employees are clocked in
  • Log subcontractor labor
  • Verify PPE and address any safety concerns
  • Communicate the day’s workflow and expectations
  • Issue any tools needed
  • End of day meeting

  • Collect and inspect issued tools and lock up
  • Acquire the days completed work
  • Communicate the next day’s work
  • Ensure all Green Air employees clocked out for the day
  • Log subcontractor labor
  • Fill out a daily work log with pictures
  • Call and update the Superintendent
  • Account for all subcontract labor

  • Responsible for ensuring the scope of work is being done in accordance with the job schedule
  • Follow the process for daily subcontractor labor log
  • All materials delivered to the project

  • Keep accurate count of materials
  • Follow the material delivery process
  • Ensure the proper materials are onsite for upcoming work
  • Organization is key
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite environment

  • The last 30 minutes of every day must be spent confirming the following :
  • Workspace swept
  • Tools securing in the job box or Conex
  • All materials of significant value are locked away
  • All remaining materials must be in the location of the work, organized and out of the way of the other trades
  • Secure lifts, ladders, and large equipment
  • Communicate with General Contractor Superintendent

  • Daily communication about the following is a must : What was completed
  • What is going to happen :
  • Initiate and provide details on any possible change events / change orders identified in the field
  • Other trade interferences and coordination
  • County / City inspections
  • Weekly

  • Production meeting – this is a scheduled time for the project team to communicate future project needs, create solutions, and learn from past mistakes. Procore meeting agenda is to be followed.
  • Safety
  • Previous weeks issues
  • Review RFI responses
  • Review newly generated RFIs created by the Foreman
  • 3 week look ahead, action plans
  • Training
  • Material releases
  • Manpower
  • Other asset needs
  • Manage change requests
  • Forecast any conflicts in the work, bring it to the attention of the team immediately
  • Follow the guidance of the Project Manager on all change orders
  • Maintain jobsite tools
  • Every tool assigned to the project is the foreman’s responsibility, issue them with caution
  • Ensure tools are returned at the end of every day and in the condition they were lent out
  • All tools need to be returned to the Warehouse Supervisor after use
  • Never lend out Green Air tools or equipment to anyone other than Green Air employees
  • Green Air contracted sub-labor – verify with Superintendent
  • Maintain lifts and jacks
  • Never lend out to anyone other than Green Air employees
  • Green Air contracted sub-labor – verify with Superintendent
  • Ensure proper care is being taken
  • Clean off at the end of every day
  • Plug in lifts at the end of every day
  • Secure them
  • Check water levels of batteries weekly
  • Post Construction

  • Full project review with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and estimating department
  • Supervisory Responsibilities : (scope of the person’s authority, including a list of positions that report to this position).

  • This position has full authority to conduct annual performance reviews, build quarterly goals, and make requests for pay increases to the Superintendent. Manage and report employee disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspensions, and documentation of performance issues
  • Lead Mechanic, Start-up Mechanic, Install Mechanic, Duct Mechanic, & Apprentice
  • Education / Certification :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • OSHA certifications
  • Required Knowledge :

    Minimum 5 years verifiable experience in commercial HVAC and / or construction field

    Minimum 5 years of experiences in large commercial construction

    Skill and Ability :

    Proven leadership and supervisory skills

    Team player

    Organizational and planning skills

    Must be detail oriented

    Ability to use significant independent judgment

    Excellent time management skills

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
