Job Description

WTTG / WDCA – Streaming Producer (Regular Full-Time)

FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking a dynamic Streaming Producer to shape the future of digital news, focusing on live-streaming programs such as DMV Zone Live and Do You Like It Or Not? . This role involves producing raw, impactful live news coverage for the Washington, D.C. market and beyond.

What You’ll Do

Produce Live Shows : Oversee the daily production of live digital shows from initial news gathering and story development to final post-production.

Create Content : Write scripts, develop rundowns, and craft segments that engage our digital audience.

Collaborate with the Team : Work with reporters, hosts, and executive producers to deliver seamless programming.

Coordinate Live Coverage : Partner with the assignment desk and field crews to coordinate live shots, graphics, and video for breaking news; develop authentic segments, write compelling stories, build rundowns, and edit scripts.

Manage Editorial Vision : Log and edit video and make editorial decisions to shape the final product; work closely with executive producers, producers, writers, reporters, and hosts.

Active Participation : Participate in daily editorial, department, and production meetings, contributing strategic insights and leading discussions.

Other Duties : Perform other duties as assigned, reporting to the Executive Producer.

Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in a medium-to-large television market.

Editorial Expertise : Exceptional news judgment, strong writing skills, and a deep understanding of storytelling for a digital audience.

Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational abilities.

Strategic Thinking : Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and provide direction under pressure.

Additional Details

Please provide writing samples and a reel / link of recent production work. FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus operates 24 / 7, and this high-impact role requires flexibility for a dynamic schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during breaking news.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate for this role is $80,000.00–$85,000.00 annually, with final offer based on education, skills, experience, and location. This role is eligible for benefits including medical / dental / vision, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
