Med / Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location : Austin, TX 78704 (Texas nursing jobs)

Facility : 34-bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry Unit

Assignment Type : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : November 3, 2025

End Date : February 2, 2026

Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Requirement : 4 shifts per schedule

On-Call : Not required

Dress Code : Navy scrubs (no hoop nose piercings)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1260 - $1350

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)

BLS certification (required)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg Telemetry or Neuro RN experience

ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (preferred)

Proficient in Meditech EMR (preferred)

Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills

Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care on a 34-bed Med / Surg Telemetry unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient status; administer medications and treatments

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit coordinators

Operate clinical equipment such as Welch Allyn vital sign monitors, PCA pumps, and Hoyer lifts

Assist with procedures including dialysis, CBI, gastric decompression, and wound care

Maintain a safe nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 6
