Team JAS is looking for a driven, goal-oriented Aircraft Component Technician  with a passion for results to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. We serve a global customer base of airlines, OEMs, and MROs with distribution, component repair, and PMA parts.

About The Position :

The Aircraft Component Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration tasks as assigned, following all applicable maintenance data. In addition to these duties, the Shop Technician is responsible for performing inspection tasks as directed, including incoming, preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections. This position requires qualifications in accordance with 14 CFR 145.155 .

As a Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) covered position, the Shop Technician participates in the Team JAS Drug and Alcohol Testing Program , which complies with 49 CFR Part 40 and 14 CFR Part 120 . Team JAS is a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, avionics, and electrical components.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify defects or areas requiring repair.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components using the appropriate tools, equipment, and technical manuals.
  • Complete all maintenance activities in accordance with the Repair Station Quality Manual and FAA regulations, including accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, and tests.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are performed in the correct sequence, inspections are requested in a timely manner, and all activities comply with applicable maintenance data and customer requirements.
  • Verify that all test equipment or tools used to make airworthiness determinations are labeled properly before use.
  • Request necessary stock and materials for assigned work.
  • Perform preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections of aircraft components according to current maintenance data.
  • Conduct incoming inspections to identify, control, segregate, and maintain all materials (including raw materials and parts) in compliance with manufacturer requirements or standard industry practices.

Required Qualifications :

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English per 14 CFR 145.155 requirements.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR 145 regulations, inspection methods, practices, aids, and equipment used to determine the airworthiness of components.
  • Proficiency in using inspection equipment and visual aids appropriate for the components being serviced.
  • Participation in and compliance with the FAA / DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40 and 14 CFR Part 120.
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or similar maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment.
  • Formal technical training or certification in aviation maintenance or related field (e.g., Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, though not explicitly required in the description).
  • Experience with aircraft components such as landing gear, hydraulics, avionics, or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard technical manuals and component maintenance procedures
  • Success Metrics :

  • Process work orders through the first toll gate within 10 days of receipt.
  • Complete work orders through the final toll gate within 10–15 days of approval.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all maintenance records.
  • Maintain a low rate of reworks and warranty claims, demonstrating quality and reliability in completed work.
  • Ideal Candidate :

    The ideal candidate for the JAS Technician is a dependable, detail-oriented professional with a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. They hold a valid Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license and are proficient in aircraft component repair, including landing gear, hydraulic, avionics, and electrical systems.

    This individual possesses thorough technical knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR 145), inspection methods, and maintenance procedures, with hands-on experience in a repair station or MRO environment. They are highly organized, process-driven, and skilled in using inspection tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure the airworthiness of components. Personally, they demonstrate a strong work ethic, communicate effectively, and thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment while taking personal accountability for the quality and accuracy of their work.
