Overview
Strategic Communications Leader with Expertise in Digital Media and Community Outreach
As a Technical Writer at LIS, you will help us tell our story by turning client requirements into compelling proposals that reflect our values, highlight our project expertise, and differentiate us in the public and private sectors.
You’ll work alongside our Business Development Coordinator and broader Marketing Team to position LIS as the region’s trusted civil engineering and land surveying partner. This position is available at our Paris, TN location .
Compensation
Compensation : $20 – $24 per hour
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and submit high-quality proposal materials, including RFQs, RFPs, letters of interest, resumes, and project sheets across various platforms, including client-specific online portals.
- Produce and edit technical writing for project descriptions, resumes, and proposal narratives, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness.
- Create project write-ups and maintain a comprehensive content library, including technical project descriptions, personnel resumes, boilerplate materials, and past narratives.
- Assist the Business Development Coordinator in pursuits by developing supporting materials, graphics, and narratives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (engineers, surveyors, project managers) to capture technical information and translate it into compelling proposal content.
- Coordinate with project administrators, receptionist, and other staff to track touch points with key clients and ensure accurate CRM updates.
- Track pursuits, qualifications, and project data using the company’s CRM system.
- Manage multiple deadlines and priorities across pursuits in varying stages of development.
- Lead the preparation and submission of materials for industry awards, certifications, and rankings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Business, or a related field.Strong technical writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering and surveying concepts into clear, client-focused content.Exceptional organizational skills with a detail-oriented, proactive approach to managing deadlines.Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with proposal development in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry is a plusCompetitive salary; Referral bonusMedical, dental, and vision benefits.
