Job Summary
The Unit Director (Nurse Manager) is responsible for the daily 24 hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the overall operations of the department and participates actively in decision making related to departmental functions. Reporting to the Sr. Director for Patient Care Services, responsible for providing consistent clinical leadership and nursing practice oversight for UCSF Health Stanyan & Hyde Medical Centers. Functional areas of oversight include : Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) UCSF Health Stanyan & Hyde Medical Centers. Ensures the quality of patient care in the ARU units across the two hospitals. Serves as a role model for professional nursing practice. Manages staff involved in providing clinical patient care. Responsible for the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources on a 24-hour basis. Designs and oversees nursing and administrative operations in large and / or multiple patient care areas. Accountable for the overall administrative planning and coordination of the staffing, fiscal and material resources. Assists with the development and implementation of new programs and policies. Direct reports are typically supervisors and managers.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $253,900 - $269,400 (Annual Rate).

The Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) at UCSF Health Stanyan & Hyde Medical Centers is a CARF (Certified Acute Rehabilitation Facility) accredited organization. It has a long history of excellence in the adult and elderly population, specializing in post-stroke care, one of the well-respected rehabilitation facilities in the Bay Area. UCSF Health Stanyan & Hyde Medical Centers is a 43-bed facility combined & both equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to support rehabilitation care. The facility cares for adult & elderly population specializing in post stroke care, spine & traumatic brain injury, neurogenic impairment, burns, joint replacements, amputations, LVAD, transplant & other various qualifying & non-qualifying acute rehab diagnoses.
