The City of Oakland is currently recruiting to fill multiple Custodian, PT (Part-Time) vacancies within the Public Works Department. Incumbents perform a variety of custodial duties in assigned buildings and perform minor maintenance as required, they respond to request for enhanced cleaning and sanitizing to prevent the spread of germs and virus and ensure clean safe and healthy buildings. Incumbents perform heavy routine cleaning, recycling, moving and setting-up of furniture, and other general custodial duties. The Custodian receives general supervision from a Custodian Supervisor & Custodial Services Supervisor I.

Education : Successful completion of the eighth grade.
Experience : One year of full-time experience in building cleaning work.
License or Certificate / Other Requirements : Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

This is an at-will position, exempt from the provisions of the City of Oakland Civil Service Rules (per Charter Section 902f).
