Please note for this requisition, experience in psychotherapy (e.g. counseling, clinical psychology, or marriage and family therapy) counts as social work experience.
ABOUT THE POSITION : Under general supervision of the counseling services supervisor, performs the below duties and responsibilities :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from an accredited college with a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing; plus two years of clinical experience.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED :
Possession of a current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following : Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and a Child Protective Services Registry check screening to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is emergency / essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and / or other emergencies.)
Flex schedule, evening, and on-call work required to meet client needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's degree in a field related to counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
At least 24 months of experience directly providing psychotherapy specifically to treat trauma in adults, children, youth, and families.
Demonstrated experience in broadly addressing the impacts of domestic or sexual violence with victims.
Completed and applied professional training in a trauma-specific treatment modality.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience working in Human Services.
Professional experience training staff and clients, oral presentations / public speaking, court testimony, project management, meeting facilitation, and conflict resolution / mediation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
Ability to travel to various locations throughout Fairfax County to provide coverage, attend meetings, and trainings not accessible by public transportation.
Ability to use keyboard driven equipment and other automated technology to access, input, retrieve, and process information.
This job is generally sedentary in nature.
Work requires performing tasks with risk of secondary traumatic stress.
