PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR I
DUNCAN, SC
(B-SHIFT 7PM-7AM)
As a member of the Operations Team, the Production Supervisor II will coach and support plant employees in a self-directed, just-in-time environment. This role involves supervising and directing production employees on assignments, development, productivity, interviewing and selecting group / team leaders, identifying defects, and promoting 5S standards. Willingness to work the night shift is required.
The Role :
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Maintaining outstanding employee relations by inspiring and motivating staff to perform efficiently.
- Demonstrating equipment operations, work procedures, and safety standards to new employees or training experienced workers.
- Monitoring work and assembly lines to ensure compliance with quality and production standards.
- Planning work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
- Providing training, encouragement, and motivation to prepare employees for their roles.
- Adjusting coaching techniques based on individual team member's strengths and weaknesses.
- Analyzing team members' capabilities to develop tailored growth strategies.
- Enforcing health and safety regulations.
- Resolving team issues and collaborating on problem-solving.
- Reviewing production schedules and coordinating with the materials department.
- Monitoring workstations for proper execution and material usage.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to motivation, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service.
- Identifying cost reduction opportunities and initiating process improvements.
- Leading major initiatives and kaizen events.
- Implementing and training employees on MOS & Lean / Sigma processes.
- Participating in activities related to training, employment, safety, and personnel research; interpreting company policies and enforcing safety regulations.
- May involve recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating performance, and recommending promotions or disciplinary actions.
Your Qualifications :
Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.Knowledge of ISO 14001, OSHA, TS16949, and compliance standards.Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and efficiency techniques.Knowledge of machinery, tools, and maintenance.Familiarity with automotive plant functions like maintenance, quality, safety, and materials management.Understanding of strategies like PLM, just-in-time, and self-directed teams.Knowledge of Lear's policies and environmental regulations.Strong results-oriented, team-building, trust-fostering, and change management skills.Ability to analyze situations, evaluate options, and make sound decisions.Effective communication skills across all organizational levels and with external partners.Ability to multitask and manage priorities efficiently.Lear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to diversity.
