POSITION OVERVIEW We’re seeking an Analytics Engineer who will shape the future of how internal & external stakeholders consume essential analytics.
You will lead the design & build of data visualizations that are integrated with our data stack (AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Omni) in a manner that intuitively conveys key insights.
You will also collaborate to enhance our data infrastructure & operations to improve the usability of our data assets.
You will closely work with teams across the organization, including Product, Data, Engineering, and Operations.
This role combines analytical thinking with hands-on data execution to support Harbor Health's mission of transforming healthcare in Austin.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Build and maintain the semantic layer / metrics :
- define KPI logic and reusable models that power dashboards and self-serve reporting.
- Test and improve data modeling for generative AI.
- Translate business questions into performant SQL and polished dashboards in our BI tool (Omni); ship clean, drill-friendly reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to customize reporting and data workflows.
- Optimize warehouse and query performance for fast, cost-effective analytics.
- Help implement and monitor ETL / ELT to land and transform data from databases, files, and APIs.
- Manage schema changes and migrations with version control and backward-compatible rollouts.
- Develop and deploy forecasting models (e.g., regression, time-series) to power forecasting reports and alerts.
- Triage and resolve reporting issues and pipeline incidents; drive root-cause analysis and prevention.
- Collaborate with data engineering team to support on business logic as part of typical build processes DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 2-4+ years experience in an analytics engineer capacity, especially 0-to-1 and startup environments.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Omni, Looker, PowerBI, etc.
- Strong proficiency in SQL & Excel.
- Python experience is also preferred.
- Experience building ETL / ELT and data processing pipelines using dbt.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster are a plus. Hands-on experience with relational databases and data warehouses (e.g.
- Snowflake) Understanding of data modeling principles (star / snowflake schema, normalization / denormalization).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear insights and work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with product managers, engineers and marketing to launch and improve workflows.
- Familiarity, excitement and comfort working in the HealthTech industry; strong plus if already familiar with key healthcare data concepts.
