Overview
Senior Geotechnical Engineer role at SLR Consulting in Cheshire, Connecticut. You will lead the geotechnical practice and contribute to projects across the geotechnical engineering spectrum, from feasibility through final design and construction-phase inspections.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with clients that result in sustained revenue growth
- Achieve business financial targets
- Manage overall project / program budgets and schedules, client satisfaction / expectations, and internal and contract requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of project management and effective delegation and oversight of group or program tasks and goals
- Provide final senior review of technical or promotional communications prepared by staff and others
- Promote cross-selling of SLR technical services
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment
- Manage junior staff
- Collaborate with project managers in the company's civil, structural, water resource, construction, and transportation engineering teams
Qualifications / Education / Memberships
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineeringMaster's degree in civil engineering with geotechnical specialty preferred10+ years of relevant work experience in geotechnical engineeringExperience in subsurface exploration and testing programs, analysis and design of geotechnical applications including dam investigations and design, and preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans for foundations, retaining walls, dams, and other geotechnical aspects of constructionLicensed Professional Engineer in ConnecticutPossess reliable transportation to travel to job sites with a valid driver's licenseField orientation and proven problem-solving skillsDemonstrated project management skillsConsultant-minded with focus on client value generation and business driversAbility to work with peers and staff in different geographic locationsCollaborative, team-oriented approach to daily workExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop rapport and credibilityAttention to detail with strong analytical and judgment capabilitiesSkilled in communicating technical information to internal and external contactsStrong analytical, organizational, leadership, and multi-tasking skillsSelf-directed and highly motivatedBenefits
