Job Function :
To produce machined parts that conform to specifications by setting
up and running CNC machines with the ability to make basic edits to CNC
programs.
Will use the following machines : STAR SR-10J, STAR SR-20J, STAR SR-20J II
Will use the following controllers : FANUC 18i, FANUC 31i, FANUC 32i
Duties (
1. All team members will show the ability to follow written and
verbal instructions, maintain appropriate communication with
colleagues / mentors, and work cooperatively to meet production goals.
2. Maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures, including start up and shut down of the machines assigned
3. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance
requirements, follows manufacturers instructions, troubleshoots
malfunctions
4. Runs multiple CNC machines, as assigned
5. Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
6. Is able to perform offsets and change tooling while a job is running
7. Has knowledge of standard inspection equipment
8. Operates machine tools to include CNC and manual lathes; CNC and manual milling machines; and grinders
9. Participates in training of less experienced machine operators.
10. Positions and secures work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures
11. Completes full set up of equipment, working from set up instructions
12. Knowledge of setting collets, guide bushings, and cutting tools as needed
13. Maintains a well ordered work station, performs routine chip
removal, cleaning down of equipment and mopping of floor in general work
station area.
14. Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
15. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
16. Maintains continuity among staff by documenting and communicating
actions, reports irregularities to other appropriate staff, with
attention to continuous improvement.
17. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to ISO quality, ITAR and safety regulations
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications :
Education / Training :
High School Diploma or Equivalent, preferably from an accredited trade school
Experience :
4+ years of prior experience operating, setting up, and editing programs for CNC lathes & CNC Swiss lathes.
Physical Demands :
Ability to stand for long periods, push / pull / lift up to 50 lbs, and grasp small parts.
