Position Summary : We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Dolton, IL facility. This role will provide process design and optimization expertise, support for control systems, process safety oversight, equipment reliability analysis, and daily troubleshooting. The Process Engineer will play a key role in improving operational performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting capital projects.
Approximately 75% of time will be dedicated to plant optimization, process safety, daily support, and capital projects; the remaining 25% will focus on leading and participating in continuous improvement programs such as 5S, TPM, and DMAIC.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify and implement plant optimization and improvement opportunities.
- Evaluate key manufacturing KPIs, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Support and contribute to engineering efforts for capital projects.
- Troubleshoot complex plant issues alongside the engineering team.
- Partner with maintenance and operations to enhance plant systems with a focus on safety and quality.
- Identify and execute cost savings and capacity improvement initiatives.
- Support process safety programs including Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, and Pre-Start Safety Reviews (PSSR).
- Manage and maintain the site’s distributed control system (DCS), Emerson DeltaV.
- Collaborate with Product Management and R&D to implement new or modified products.
- Provide shift supervision of production staff in the absence of production supervisors.
- Promote and adhere to GMP, SOPs, HACCP, and regulatory requirements to ensure food safety, quality, and compliance.
- Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis teams for incidents and process improvements.
- Report on engineering projects and KPIs monthly.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education : BS in Engineering.
Experience :
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.Proven leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.Hands-on experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies.Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Familiarity with Lean principles and reliability practices (FMEA, ACA, DfR).Preferred Skills :
Background in the emulsifier industry.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.Experience managing capital projects up to $250k.Patco Products is an equal opportunity employer
