Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Float Pool position requiring a ND or compact RN license and at least 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience. Responsibilities Work in the Med / Surg Float Pool within an acute care hospital Patient population includes surgical cases (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, diabetic issues) Unit has 61 combined beds with a day ratio of 1 : 5 and a night ratio of 1 : 6 Utilizes Epic EMR; experience with Epic is required 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Required to float as needed between units Use of Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow oxygen equipment Telemetry monitoring is present; monitor tech reads strips and RNs confirm No titration of drips is required Perform comprehensive care of diverse med / surg patients including post-operative and complex medical conditions Orientation includes 12 hours of general and unit-specific training with a float checklist Work within a team structure that includes nurse aides at a 1 : 15 ratio Any scrub color is acceptable per dress code Every other holiday coverage required Candidates may not have worked directly for any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the last year Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Current BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg nursing experience matching current unit standards Experience with telemetry and basic respiratory equipment (Cpap, BiPap, high-flow) Must provide two professional references : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-615271.
