Job descriptionRole : RN Specialty : Psychiatry – severe persistent mental illness Number of Openings : 1 Shift : 7A – 7P Weekly Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours Weekend Hours : yes Call Requirements : no call Float Requirements : yes Years of Experience : 2+ Must Have Skills / Experience : Assessment, Columbia Suicidal Scale, CIWA / COWS Protocol, Medication reconciliation Preferred Skillset / Experience : Inpatient acute care, Therapeutic communication Common Diagnosis / Treatment : Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder Personality Fit : Adaptable, Multitasker, Conflict resolution Required Education : Associates degree Nursing Dress Code : Scrub Color : Navy Blue High school degree preferred Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred Valid driver's license and favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required when using personal or hospital owned vehicle Must be at least 21 years of age Shift : 7A – 7P Weekly Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours Weekend Hours : yes Call Requirements : no call Facility Department / Cost Center : Not specified Supervisor : Not included due to sensitive information removal Responsible for observation and maintenance of safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, etc. : completes 15 minute checks, monitors for contraband, evaluates for change in condition, and provides line of sight or one on one care as directed Adheres to tasks delegated by the RN related to the care of the patients including, but not limited to vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring Demonstrates effective milieu management skills, which promote positive patient experiences Accompanies patients to off unit activities, i.e. meals, outside breaks, off unit visits, out-of-building activities and appointments Other duties as assigned
