Make a lasting difference by becoming a patient direct volunteer. In this role, you’ll provide companionship and emotional support to patients receiving hospice care, often in their homes or in long-term care facilities. Your time can help ease loneliness, bring joy, and support families during a very meaningful time.
What You’ll Do :
- Visit patients regularly to talk, read aloud, play games, write letters, or simply be present
- Provide respite for family caregivers so they can rest, run errands, or take a break
- Offer compassionate listening and companionship to patients nearing end of life
Requirements :
Compassionate, dependable, and comfortable spending time with patientsAbility to listen well and provide support without judgementCompletion of hospice volunteer orientation, background check, training, and TB screeningMust be at least 18 years of age
