Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Newnan, Georgia 30265 (Atlanta metro area)

Healthcare Setting : Medical Surgical Unit (Med Surg 9)

Assignment Type : Travel RN job

Start Date : December 1, 2025

End Date : April 20, 2026

Contract Duration : 20 weeks

Nursing Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend Coverage : Every other weekend

Floating : Within facility / scope of practice as needed

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1460-$1500

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome)

Active Georgia or Compact RN license required

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Epic charting system experience preferred

Preferred background in community hospital, Trauma Level I or II

Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred

Ability to work major holidays per assignment policy

Patient ratio : 6 : 1

Clinical skills : isolation precautions, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care / management, rapid response / code teams

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical environment

Monitor, assess, and document patient status using Epic EMR

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Float to other nursing units within the facility as needed

Participate in rapid response and code teams

Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures

Work every other weekend and major holidays as required
