The Licensing Associate supports regulatory and licensing activities for nuclear energy projects by managing documentation, coordinating with regulators, and assisting in probabilistic safety analysis. The position involves collaboration with engineering and legal teams to ensure adherence to safety and licensing standards across U.S. and international markets.

Last Energy seeks a Licensing Associate to support our regulatory and licensing activities across the U.S. and international markets. This role will focus on preparing, organizing, and managing licensing documentation, coordinating communications with regulators, and contributing to probabilistic safety analysis (PSA) that underpins our nuclear projects.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to navigate complex regulatory requirements, maintain impeccable documentation, and provide analytical support in safety and licensing processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation submitted to regulators
  • Conduct spreadsheet analysis, including data collection, modeling, and reporting
  • Research, track and interpret evolving licensing requirements to ensure compliance
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, and project teams to align licensing activities with broader project goals
  • Maintain organized records and documentation systems for licensing and regulatory filings

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in licensing, regulatory affairs, safety analysis, or a related technical field
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, nuclear science, or related discipline
  • Familiarity with licensing and regulatory processes in the energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong analytical skills with exposure to probabilistic safety analysis or quantitative risk assessment preferred
  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills
  • Disciplined and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Based in Austin, TX or Washington, DC (or willing to relocate)
