What You'll Do
- Ability to listen, learn, and retain information after one or two hands-on instructions
- Completion of Plumbing 101 or ability to test out
- Working knowledge of IPC Chapters 1-3 and ability to apply them in the field
- Basic blueprint and print-reading skills
- Ability to mentor junior staff as needed and report quality or workmanship concerns to the Mechanic
- Experience installing basic plumbing systems (PEX-A, CPVC, PVC, ProPress, etc.)
- Experience installing basic plumbing fixtures and equipment

What We're Looking For - Commitment to learning the skills required to progress toward journeyman status
- Ability to work closely with a Plumbing Mechanic and follow direction while developing technical competency
- Willingness to take on increasing responsibility, including completing assigned tasks independently or with limited supervision as experience is gained
- Interest in learning the layout and installation of commercial plumbing systems
- Readiness, in later apprenticeship years, to assist with supervising junior staff related to work quality, material management, layout, and basic repeatable tasks
- Ability to meet apprenticeship requirements, including accruing a minimum of 2,000 on-the-job training (OJT) hours per year
Work Environment - Work is primarily performed on commercial new construction sites across varying locations
- Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions and on active construction sites

Requirements - Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs
- Willingness to learn on the job, complete training, and earn plumber qualifications
- Quick learner with strong work ethic
- Vocational or trade training preferred
- Proficient with basic hand and power tools
- Strong math skills for accurate measurements
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions and varying temperatures
