About this position :
NorthWestern Energy is seeking a Technology Delivery Manager with strong experience in the delivery of enterprise applications, legacy systems, and modern cloud-based platforms. You will play a critical role in managing the intake, prioritization, and iterative delivery of software solutions spanning custom applications, SaaS products, and hyperscaler-hosted systems (AWS, Azure, etc.). In this role, you will guide technology teams through successful delivery cycles while partnering closely with business stakeholders to ensure that solutions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and technical standards.

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software application enhancements, integrations, and new implementations across a diverse technology portfolio using a variety of Project Management methods and ensuring technology projects adhere to Enterprise Project Management standards.Manage intake of work requests from business partners, drive prioritization decisions, and ensure alignment with enterprise objectivesOversee team backlogs and work breakdown, ensuring clear requirements and well-defined delivery scopeAbility to lead a wide portfolio of projects, from complex enterprise-wide projects to tightly focused, operational projectsManage relationships with third-party software vendors, including evaluating performance, ensuring contractual compliance, coordinating issue resolution, and aligning vendor deliverables with project timelines and organizational goals.Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives for software delivery teamsCollaborate with business stakeholders to refine functional requirements and align outcomes with business needs-serving as a delivery partner, not a proxyCoordinate cross-functional delivery of technology solutions including : - Legacy on-premises systems - SaaS platforms - Cloud-hosted and hyperscaler-deployed applications (e.g., Azure, AWS)Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, architectural, and operational standards during all phases of deliveryTrack delivery metrics and release timelines using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent project management toolsSupport continuous improvement by tracking and reporting key Agile team throughput metrics-such as velocity, cycle time, and work in progress-month over monthProvide monthly reporting to Business Technology leadership on Agile team performance, including throughput metrics, backlog health, and delivery progressCollaborate with the team's manager to assess team member performance, identify key skillsets, celebrate team successes, and provide input to support the annual performance appraisal process as neededAssist in the assessment and comparison of proposed technical solutions for business and operational needsConduct preliminary research on emerging technologies and vendor offerings and provide feedback and input to technology leadershipAbility to communicate across all levels of the organization and understand how to tailor communication approach to best fit each project's stakeholdersFoster a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and Agile thinking within and across teamsAct as a coach and leader to help the organization advance its Agile delivery practicesAll NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & EthicsEnsure self and others actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectivesAm I right for this job? Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field-or equivalent experience4+ years of experience leading delivery of enterprise software and systemsExperience with delivering technology solutions across legacy, SaaS, and cloud-native platformsProficiency in Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) preferred, or familiarity with traditional delivery methodologiesFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or PMI-ACP preferred, or other comparable project management certificationsStrong communication, prioritization, and facilitation skills-particularly in complex, cross-functional, matrixed environmentsProven ability to manage delivery without embedded QA or BA resources, relying on business partnerships for requirements and validationA strategic mindset with the ability to translate ideas into executable delivery plansGet Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus (click here to certify at no cost)Requisition #4861
