Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (10 : 45 - 21 : 15) and Day 5x8-Hour (12 : 45 - 23 : 15)

Guaranteed Hours :

Experience : Minimum 3 years required

License : Must have active Illinois license in hand or be in application process

Certifications : BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred

Must-Have : Not open to first-time candidates; Weekend requirement of 1 per month; On-call required 1 / week; General OR and Trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience required; Cerner experience preferred

Job Description :

• Work with all service lines except Cardiovascular.
• Required Bariatric Case Experience : Laparoscopic assisted cases.
• Required General Surgery Case Experience : Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal / umbilical, Laparoscopic-assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial / total, Whipple.
• Required Neurology Case Skills / Experience : Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy / discectomy, Lumbar fusion.
• Required Orthopedic Case Skills / Experience : Arthroscopy, Carpal tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures.
• Required Plastic Surgery Case Skills / Experience : Free Flap - Microvascular.
• Required Transplant Skills / Experience : Organ donation.
• Required Urology Case Skills / Experience : Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy.
• Required Trauma Case Skills / Experience : Amputations, Gunshot / stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries).
• Required Emergency Management Skills / Experience : Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia.
• Required Equipment / Instrumentation / Supplies Experience : Electrosurgical units, Fiber optic light sources / cords, Hana tables.
• Required Professional Knowledge and Skills : Administration of blood products, Infection control, Radiation Safety, Specimen Handling / Labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Urinary bladder catheterization.
• Work in an acute care hospital with a Level I trauma center; Magnet facility.
• Required to float within skill set; rare possibility.
• Non-billable orientation hours : 16; Non-billable up to 16 hours for module completion.
