Air Reserve Technician Officer Position

The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer directly responsible to the Unit Commander to manage the Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP) for the wing / group. Serves as the unit point of contact for the coordination and execution of the Unit Effectiveness Inspection (UEI).

Duties :

• Oversees, plans and executes Unit Effectiveness Inspection program.
• Develops, plans, executes, and controls inspections and exercises to accurately assess unit effectiveness and readiness.
• Leads / trains / manages Wing Inspection Team (WIT).
• Attends meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to program planning, advanced technologies and support system concepts.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities less than 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of critical unit plans and programs such as mission and flight operations, tactical training, deployment, mobilization, budgeting, exercise planning, legal, contingency, or similar operations. Knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, and organizational relationships and program goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones, and methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions as related to actual events.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS : Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level.
