Clinical Supervisor- CARS Mens residential
Performs a wide range of clinical, administrative, quality assurance and supervisory functions under the general supervision of the Program Director and in support of the daily operation of residential facility. Activities include daily management of the residence including but not limited to clinical supervision, monitoring of client records, program planning and crisis intervention.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Participate in the development and implementation of program plans
- Prepares and submits clinical reports to program director
- Performs review and supervisory maintenance of official records including treatment plans, progress reports, session and group notes, and discharge / aftercare plans
- Reviews resident admission applications, develops and conducts in-service training for clinical staff
- Provides immediate supervision of clinical staff including conducting regular performance reviews and maintaining supervisory records
- Assists clinical staff in their development and understanding of chemically dependent behavior, interviewing skills, group facilitation skills, therapy techniques, client evaluation, and clinical documentation
Required Skills and Experience :
Appropriate New York state QHP clinical license; possession of a valid NYS driver's license, a safe driving record and a willingness to utilize own vehicle as needed in connection with employment.Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Qualified Health Professional (QHP) status with 3-5 years of chemical dependency treatment experience. Experience in residential services would also be an asset but is not a requirement. Previous supervisor experience a plus.General principles and practices of personnel management, supervision, and leadership development. General knowledge of the physical, mental, emotional, and social ramifications of substance abuse; general knowledge of substance abuse counseling techniques; group dynamics and techniques of conduction psycho-educational and therapy groups; general understanding of the principles of Adult Learning; interviewing techniques; generally accepted crisis intervention techniques.Preferred Skills and Experience :
To communicate effectively with staff, referral agents, third-party payment agents, client collateral's and the general public; to supervise and evaluate the generation and maintenance of accurate clinical documentation; to effectively teach complex principles relative to Mental Health and Substance Abuse theory and treatment; to manage multiple and concurrent responsibilities; to meet deadlines; to work under stress; to achieve results through those supervised and maintain a professional work environment.Physical Requirements :
Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., Use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.Location and Travel Requirements :
