Position: Surveillance Agent
Department: Surveillance
Job Summary:
Responsible for the regulatory oversight of Class II and Class III gaming activities in compliance with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe/State of Arizona Gaming Compact as well as federal, state, and tribal laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas, of responsibility, include but are not limited to):
- Initiates and monitors regulatory oversight of Class II and III gaming activities necessary for compliance with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe/State of Arizona Gaming Compact as well as federal, state, and tribal laws.
- Monitors all areas of the gaming facility to include hotel, parking garage and parking lots in conjunction with Tribal Gaming personnel, Security, and law enforcement.
- Monitors all cash handling areas including, but not limited to Cage, Vault, Table Games, points of sale and other areas deemed necessary.
- Maintains Surveillance logs including, but not limited to daily, chain-of- custody and unusual, suspicious activities as, a result of use of surveillance and other such type of equipment.
- Conducts preliminary investigations to determine if a violation or crime has occurred.
- Initiates detailed reports via computer and surveillance-related software informing Tribal Gaming of incidents or suspected illegal activity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of gaming procedures and operational standards.
- Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission, State/Tribal laws, and regulations regarding Class II and III gaming operations.
- Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures within the gaming operations.
- Knowledge of table games and gaming practices to include the use of equipment and various surveillance devices.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of the use of security and communications systems including CCTV equipment, monitors, and two-way radios.
- Ability to interpret and apply NIGC, State and tribal laws and regulations, Minimum Internal Controls and Tribal Internal Control policies.
- Ability to prepare and maintain reports/records necessary for the regulatory enforcement the tribal/state gaming compact and ordinances.
- Ability to operate computers utilizing MS Office including Word and Excel.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Tribal Gaming office, Arizona Department of Gaming and Pascua Yaqui Law Enforcement and Fire personnel
- Ability to understand and comprehend the use of surveillance systems.
- Ability to initiate written reports with well-organized structure, grammar, and punctuation.
- Ability to comprehend and understand mathematical computations.
- Ability to identify criminal activity utilizing video surveillance equipment.
- Ability to distinguish colors, shapes, and sizes.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as related to surveillance operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a High school or General Equivalency Diploma upon date of hire or must be able to obtain within one year of departmental start date.
- Minimum of One (1) year of related fulltime experience in gaming, investigations, law enforcement or a regulatory environment.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
- Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain state certification and a valid gaming license.
- Must pass a pre-employment Math and Writing assessment test with a minimum of 85% proficiency.
