Job Description Job Description Make a Difference The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the surgeon in a variety of roles. Everyday brings a new and exciting challenge. Duties will include, but not limited to facilitation of patient visits and procedures, routine laboratory tests and referrals. In addition, assistance with changing of wound care and surgical dressings. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications Applicants for this position should be able to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem-solving. The applicants should also be ok with surgical type wounds as this is a wound care / orthopedic type practice. Diploma from a Medical Assistant program OR a high school diploma 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in physician practice is encouraged but not necessary We will assist in preparing the MA for our practice style. We are open to suggestions on how to make it better as well Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider's caseload Obtain necessary wound care cultures and specimen collections Assist in dressing changes, wound care measurements and application of wound care products Documentation of care using Athena EMR system Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols Process referrals and medication refills Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff Bilingual is a plus but not necessary Why Grand Foot and Ankle?
