Job Scope
The Landscape Technician is an entry level, labor position. Landscape technicians are assigned to a landscape crew and will participate in a wide variety of landscape maintenance tasks as assigned to meet business demands. The Landscape Technician is a team player and carefully follows direction to contribute to a safe working environment and high-quality results from their crew. The pay range for this position is $20.50 to $23.00 / hour. The Landscape Technician is also eligible to participate in the snow incentive program and discretionary annual bonus plan. Work Environment
The Landscape Technician works outdoors. The position work schedule varies depending on the weather. Hours are usually scheduled from 7 a.m. 3 : 30 p.m Monday through Friday. The position is required to work weekend days (Sat / Sun) or extended hours in the event of heavy snow falls or emergencies. The Landscape Technician should be flexible with availability depending on the needs of the business.
Work is primarily performed in a field setting, on diverse grounds surrounding apartment units, office, industrial and retail space environments and occasionally performed in an office environment. With regular exposure to heavy vehicle traffic conditions, frequent street-traffic and equipment noise, working with / near moving motorized equipment and hand-tools, mechanical parts, chemicals and airborne particles. Will work in all weather conditions, with constant interruptions, risk of electrical shock and potentially explosive gases. The incumbent will be exposed to wet, humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and work in tight enclosed environments.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach with hands and arms and lift objects up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to have flexible and adaptable vision, including close, peripheral, depth-perception and the ability to adjust focus.
