Job description

Job Title : Tax Manager / Sr Tax Manager

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

5-7+ years of public accounting tax experience (preparation, review, and accounting).

Experience working with clients / entity - partnership returns, sales tax preparation, and financial statement reviews - 1040, 1065, and 1120.

Experience with tax software.

CPA / EA or eligibility.

Advanced proficiency in tax research tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MBA / CMA is preferred but not required.

Active CPA / EA (strongly preferred).

Bilingual abilities in Spanish / English are a plus.

Experience with CCH or Thomson Reuters software is a strong advantage.

Interest or experience in business valuations is beneficial.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Tax Manager or Sr Tax Manager, depending on the candidate's experience and skill set. This role involves engaging in a variety of accounting and tax-related tasks to ensure compliance and provide valuable insights to our clients. The position offers hybrid flexibility following the completion of training.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Conduct research to address complex tax issues and develop effective client solutions.

Assist with intermediate and advanced year-end tax planning and strategies for individuals and businesses.

Ensure accurate position documentation and develop well-written notes and memos for tax files.

Demonstrate knowledge of sales tax rules and compliance, preparing reports as required.

Maintain and strengthen client relationships by providing accurate, proactive, and timely communication.

Confidently address client concerns by actively listening and providing thoughtful, practical solutions tailored to their needs.

Cultivate trust and long-term partnerships with clients.

Identify cross-selling opportunities and communicate them to management.

Assist in preparing new client proposals and actively participate in firm networking efforts.

Serve as a resource for junior staff, providing guidance and mentoring to build their expertise.

Answer technical questions from staff and interns, fostering professional growth within the firm.

Actively contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.

Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure completion within deadlines and financial expectations.

Utilize robust software solutions like CCH or Thomson Reuters to streamline workflows and boost productivity.

Maintain accurate time and project records in the tracking software on a daily basis.

Advise clients on intermediate to advanced tax and accounting issues, including business valuations.

Demonstrate advanced proficiency in tax research tools and apply findings effectively.

Use historical financial data to assess trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00 / yr.
