Responsibilities include supporting desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and related applications. The role involves troubleshooting software and hardware issues, managing user accounts, maintaining networking and communication systems, and ensuring equipment and software are up to date.

Responsibilities

• Assists staff with installation, configuration, inspection, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repair of desktop computers, peripherals, and software.
• Manages system accounts and assists in creation or disabling of corporate accounts.
• Controls building access badges, including creation, disabling and yearly badge audit.
• Controls video management hardware and software, installing and repairing devices.
• Maintains LAN / WAN networks, telephone systems, and overhead paging cabling and hardware.
• Uses network monitoring tools to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair network devices.
• Collaborates with vendors for printer / copier services and support; facilitates networking and adding devices to the server.
• Trains and orients staff on hardware and software; works with procurement to maintain inventory and licensing; prepares manuals and user guides.
• Applies systems analysis techniques to determine hardware / software specifications.
• Designs, documents and modifies computer programs related to operating systems.
• Works with the BHIS Help Desk or vendor support to resolve technical problems.
• Recommends and performs upgrades on systems and recommends new software and hardware.
• Works with UHS?BH Corp IT on procurement and cost?effective solutions.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the IT Communication room(s).
• Serves as liaison between IT and each facility, reporting progress to leadership.
• Provides off?hour support as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a psychiatric hospital setting with potential exposure to aggressive patients. Shifts may include day, evening, night, weekend and holidays. Employees may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and loud noise. Physical demands include standing or sitting for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, using hand tools, climbing ladders and operating contact equipment.
