Job Summary

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to individuals accessing behavioral health services primarily at our Sterling Clinic, but you may be asked to support other locations as needed. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional customer service skills, computer and data entry experience, strong written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have previous professional experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) to maintain service delivery records. Primary responsibilities include :

• Greeting and checking in individuals in a healthcare setting and assisting new individuals interested in enrolling for Departmental services.
• Answering and directing general inquiries from individuals, both in-person and over the telephone, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and verifying billing and insurance information.
• Providing courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, visitors, and the public; providing information; responding to questions and referring individuals to appropriate staff.
• Managing medical provider schedules; setting-up hours of availability; notifying individuals of appointment cancellations due to staff illness, inclement weather, and other emergencies; and facilitating rescheduling activities.
• Accurately entering information into the Electronic Health Record system. Position hours : Mon Fri : 8 : 30am 5pm with a required closing shift at least once per month until 8 pm. This position may be required to work more than one closing shift per month depending on staffing and program needs.

Hiring salary commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience in a clerical position involving contact with the public and working with automated systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
