Job description

Location :

  • Rochester Hills, Michigan Pay : 15.20- 16.20 per hour, Paid Weekly Position Type : Part-Time (Afternoons) Paid Training Provided Start Date : Within 2 Weeks of Offer We are looking for a compassionate and reliable caregiver to assist a 20-year-old male with Fragile X Syndrome and autism in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
  • The individual is currently working on developing socialization skills in the community, improving money management, and enhancing his cooking skills.
  • This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact while supporting an individual’s independence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist with socializing and practicing communication skills in the community (e.g., outings to stores, restaurants, parks).
  • Support with money management tasks, including budgeting, shopping, and handling transactions.
  • Aid in meal preparation and cooking, helping to develop cooking skills and ensure safety in the kitchen.
  • Encourage and model appropriate social behaviors, offering guidance in interactions with others.
  • Create a supportive, positive, and patient environment to foster personal development and confidence.
  • Work with the individual to set and achieve personal goals related to independence and daily living skills.

    • Requirements :

  • Must be 18 years or older, with a genuine interest in working with individuals with special needs.
  • Experience with autism or developmental disabilities (Fragile X Syndrome experience a plus, but not required).
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to provide clear guidance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and availability for afternoon hours, ideally between 4pm - 8pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to undergo paid training and background checks to ensure the safety and well-being of the individual.
