Physician (Gastroenterology)

Summary

The Miami VA Health System is recruiting a Gastroenterologist with interests in advanced endoscopy, general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), or GI motility within the Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. We are a Tier 1b academic VA referral center that incorporates high-quality clinical work, exceptional research opportunities, and teaching in a highly collegial work environment.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the initial qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements :

• United States Citizenship : Non-citizens may be appointed only when qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy.
• Education : Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school.
• License and Registration : Current, full, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
• Residency Training : Completion of an accredited residency in a core specialty leading to board eligibility in Gastroenterology.
• Board Certification : in Gastroenterology.
• English Language Proficiency : Must be proficient in spoken and written English.
• Physical Requirements : Must pass a pre-employment physical; includes lifting, carrying, reaching, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, vision, hearing, emotional and mental stability, and ability to work independently and with others.
