Purchasing Agent - Beaumont, TX

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, consumables, equipment rentals, fuel, sanitation services, and other project-related items. This role requires strong vendor relationships, cost-control awareness, and the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment. A background in construction supplies, experience with equipment rentals, and trucking logistics is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure consumables, fuel, equipment rentals, sanitation services, and other project-specific needs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Source and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
• Establish and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to ensure reliability and quality.
• Coordinate delivery schedules to job sites, ensuring materials and services meet project timelines.
• Review and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies and budgetary guidelines.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively manage stock for frequently used items.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and accounting to ensure accurate billing and cost allocation.
• Track and report on purchasing activities, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Resolve discrepancies with orders, invoices, and deliveries promptly.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
