ICU Registered Nurse Job Details Job Title : ICU Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU (Travel Nurse) Location : Lexington, KY 40503 (Kentucky nursing jobs) Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract Unit : Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Shift : Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Coverage : 3-4 weekend shifts / month (Friday or Saturday night) Estimated Weekly Pay : $2020 - $2070 ICU RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (Neuro ICU experience required and must be documented) Previous travel nurse experience in a U.S. healthcare setting Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (American Heart Association preferred) Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system Ability to float to other ICU or telemetry units as needed COVID-19 vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Two professional nursing references required ICU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to adult patients with complex neurological and multisystem conditions, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, carotid interventions, seizures, and post-surgical cases Manage advanced ICU procedures : airway management, ventilator and artline management, central line care, IV drip titration (vasopressors, sedation), and dysrhythmia management Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, administer emergency medications, and follow isolation precautions Utilize specialized equipment : EVDs, lumbar drains, CRRT, Arctic Sun, ventilators, BIS monitoring Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR Float to other ICU or telemetry units as required, maintaining safe patient ratios Take your critical care nursing career to the next level with this Neuro ICU travel nurse job in Lexington, KY—a city renowned for its horse country, thriving downtown, and welcoming community.
