The Order Picker is responsible for manual labor and equipment operation, including electric pallet jacks, stretch-wrappers, and pallet inverters. The role involves unloading products from tractor-trailers and rail containers, verifying and counting received products accurately, inspecting conditions, and processing defective items as per standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include unloading products from tractor-trailers and rail containers, verifying product received is identified and counted accurately, inspecting condition of received product and removing damaged or non-conforming items, processing defective product according to standard operating procedures, scanning pallet barcodes using RF equipment, moving and placing products safely and securely in storage locations using heavy equipment, receiving and evaluating printed orders for selection and preparation requirements, filling orders by accurately picking products from storage areas, using scanning devices and computers to ensure order accuracy, correcting shortages, over-counts, and incorrect batch codes as needed, moving products from staging areas or directly from storage into trailers, inspecting trucks for quality and sanitary requirements, verifying markings, trailer numbers, and shipping documents, filling trucks using designated loading patterns and guidelines, and properly securing loads for travel.

Essential Skills include sit-down forklift operation, material handling, RF scanning, pallet jack operation, shipping and receiving, reach truck operation, and stand-up forklift operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications include 1-2 years of equipment operation experience and experience with RF scanning.

Work Environment The work environment consists of a heated warehouse, although it lacks air conditioning in the summer. The facility spans 400,000 square feet, providing ample space for operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
