Sr. Associate, Capital Markets & Risk

This position in Capital One's Capital Markets Analytics - Capital Management team offers the candidate a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic analytics and modeling team and work with various cross-functional Finance teams, with a focus on capital management. In the role, the candidate will be responsible for forecasting and managing the capital ratios and capital adequacy as well as the capital distribution strategy for the Company. The role affords a candidate the opportunity to execute and analyze the capital management processes including but not limited to : the monthly corporate outlook, stress testing, earnings call preparations, capital management and risk committee analytics, ongoing capital distribution strategy, and other ad-hoc capital forecasting. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to support the integration of our capital management processes into our automation and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical, problem solving, and communications skills, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the candidate will develop partnerships across multiple teams to understand the strategies and implications for capital ratios.

Main Responsibilities

  • Executing business as usual monthly and quarterly processes and ad-hoc capital management projects and initiatives
  • Closely partner with other Capital Markets Analytics and Finance teams to understand implications for capital management and distribution strategy
  • Opportunity to support the integration of the capital management forecasting tool into the broader technology landscape and data infrastructure
  • Drive and implement process improvements
  • Effectively communicate, escalate, and report analyses and updates to Management and Risk Committees

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the financial industry
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in finance within the financial services industry
  • 1+ year of experience with capital management, capital markets or corporate finance
  • 1+ year of experience with business process improvement along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, deliver accurate results, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

    Salaries

    McLean, VA : $109,000 - $124,400 for Sr. Analyst, Capital Markets & Risk

    Richmond, VA : $99,100 - $113,100 for Sr. Analyst, Capital Markets & Risk

    Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and / or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
