We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team and manage complex projects from inception to completion.
- Position Overview :
The
- Electrical Project Manager
- will oversee all aspects of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. This role requires a strong leader with the ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with field staff and subcontractors, and maintain excellent client relationships. You will be responsible for ensuring the project meets specifications, timelines, and budget goals while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Project Knowledge & Documentation :
- Gain in-depth understanding of contracts, scopes of work (SOW), specifications, schedules, and cost codes.
- Review and communicate project documents (drawings, RFIs, schedules, etc.) to the field team, ensuring complete understanding.
- Proactively identify potential issues and plan ahead for solutions.
- Ensure written approval is obtained for all installation work prior to execution.
- Budget Management :
- Manage and track budgets, cost codes, and hours to ensure profitability.
- Oversee billing processes to ensure project costs remain ahead of expenditures.
- Monitor job hours and forecast labor requirements to ensure project efficiency.
- Perform regular reviews of labor, material, and subcontractor costs, and ensure cost coding accuracy.
- Push for timely approval of change orders and follow up regularly to expedite payments.
- Manpower Planning :
- Plan manpower needs and ensure labor levels align with project demands.
- Create a 3-week look ahead schedule and manage labor adjustments, reducing to apprentices where applicable.
- Coordinate with Prefab teams to ensure accurate hours and cost codes are recorded for project-related work.
- Communication & Coordination :
- Act as the primary point of contact for GCs, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ensure constant and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate all project activities, ensuring alignment with client and company expectations.
- Cost-Saving Initiatives :
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, such as Prefab solutions or alternative materials.
- Analyze project documents to identify change order opportunities.
- Continuously seek faster, cheaper, and more efficient ways to complete tasks.
- Job Site Management :
- Conduct regular job site visits to maintain a thorough understanding of project status.
- Address any potential issues early, working closely with the field team to keep the project on track.
- Ensure full knowledge of project progress and any upcoming challenges.
- Cost Recovery :
- Develop and implement plans to recover from any labor, material, or equipment shortfalls.
- Leverage change orders and scope adjustments to minimize losses and stay within budget.
- Collaborate with foremen to identify opportunities for cost recovery.
- Leadership & Team Support :
- Regularly check in with foremen to ensure they have the support needed to succeed.
- Monitor personal performance and take breaks to reassess strategies and improvements.
- Promote a positive work environment and maintain high morale across the project team.
- Qualifications :
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3 years in electrical project management or a related field.
- Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Trade School, or a related discipline preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, and construction best practices.
- Proven track record of managing projects to successful completion on time and within budget.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Experience in budget management, cost control, and manpower planning.

- Wage Range- 105k-140k “based upon experience” 2 weeks PTO, Sick day pay, Health and Dental paid for the employee, Up to 3% matching 401K.
