Under the general supervision of the Director of Staffing Operations, the employee in this position handles incoming calls for the IRS Forms and Publications Call Center by assisting taxpayers with their questions.
Essential Job Functions
- Professionally handle high volumes of inbound calls.
- Assist taxpayers with forms and publication inquiries.
- Navigate multiple browser windows while on calls.
- Maintain written correspondence as needed.
- Meet performance metrics set during training.
Marginal Job Functions
Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.Participate in training and meetings as requested.Perform other duties as assigned.Key Responsibilities
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to type 20 WPM.Must be proficient in internet and computer use.Must maintain a personal computer and internet setup.Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Must be able to pass a U.S. government background investigation and periodic yearly reviews.Must be compliant with IRS and Selective Service requirements.
